One of the greatest benefits of the web is the ability to be BETTER INFORMED

1. RSS ( Really Simple Syndication)
When you find a blog that you like (hopefully including this one!) you can ‘subscribe ‘to the blog’s ‘RSS feed’ using an online feed reader. On our blog just click
This means that you that you won’t need to keep going to the blog to find out if there is a new posting. Instead your reader will display the latest posting automatically.

2. Google Alerts
Google Alerts are a simple and free way to get regular updates about something that interests you. Google Alerts will send you an email any time a new web page appears for the terms you specify. You can specific any subject you want e.g. Coach Education, Player Development, Talent Identification,Sports Pyschology,Fitness Training, Goalkeeper practices etc,etc.You can have up to 100 Alerts at one time and you can add and delete as you need to since it takes
NB : Google picks up “association football” and “soccer” for soccer but Google can equate “football” to be American Football.So it’s better to use “soccer”

3. Translate
Google Translate is a free service provided by Google to translate a section of text, document or webpage, into another language. The translation may not be word perfect but it does allow you to review websites in other countries

As an example once you have downloaded Google Translate then try clicking the ‘Translate’ button when you get to the website of the German FA where in their the online training section for age appropriate training is only available in German but which you can translate to English using Google Translate :

4. Bookmarking – e.g. creating ‘favourite’ website
Have you ever gone to a site and liked it so much you wanted to keep going back? You can bookmark it, which means that you save it, so next time all you have to do is choose it from a menu.

5. Social Bookmarking
You will find that your list of favourite bookmarks increases and you often need to find more than one page on the same website .In these circumstances it is better to use a social bookmarking service like http://www.delicious.com
